Pavers are a great investment because they last a long time and are easy to maintain.  Keeping them cleaned and sealed is important as to not allow oils and stains to penetrate the pavers and will also provide a beautiful look.  There are two types of sealers: a natural penetrating finish that does not change the appearance of the pavers and a high gloss “wet look” coating that lies on top of the pavers.  Both choices will protect from spills and stains and maintain the integrity of the pavers.  The most popular finish is the “wet look” because it delivers a rich finish that is attractive.

There has also been advances in the types of sand to fill in between the pavers to help lock them in place and to prevent weeds and moss from growing up through the joints in the pavers.  Polymeric sand fills the joints and hardens to provide extra stability and a great barrier for unwanted growth.  This sand is easily swept into the spaces between the pavers and then misted with water to activate the hardening properties.
